Day 3 & 4 Monday-Tuesday

Hola  – Great seeing Sor Teresa!

And he said: “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven” was a quote from our morning reflection this morning. And, as I look back on day 3, the team experienced this with the girls and elderly throughout the day tenfold.

From the Valentine’s Day party, to scrapbooking and the “battle of the books”, we all experienced the joy of our youth. The smiles, the hugs, the tears and yes, the competition was priceless.

We also had the opportunity to give everyone a tour of the orphanage and observe firsthand the fruits of the gifts from St. Michaels’s capital improvements. The nuns are amazing and appreciative for the generosity in truly making a difference.

This morning we will be spending time with the elderly painting and playing games. Their talents are many in number. Stay tuned for pictures.

We are blessed beyond belief and ask for His continued guidance and your prayers.

Update 2

The highlight of the day was Elsa and Luisa’s quinceañera. The women of our group helped the girls with hair, makeup and nails, while the men were busy repairing bicycles. The girls looked so beautiful and were smiling ear to ear. The mass and ceremony were beautiful and a vibrant reception followed with a piñata and lots of fun play in the courtyard. What a great afternoon with the girls. They felt so special when we make such a fuss. Such a gift.
