St. Michael’s Parishioners Get Ready for A Trip!

What do St. Michael’s Parishioners do to get ready to visit our friends in Honduras?

We pray, we plan, we gather  – This week, June 12-18, six parishioners along with Fr. Bill will be traveling to spend time with the nuns, elderly and girls from our sister project in Santa Rosa de Copan, Honduras.  We have spent the last several months getting ready for this trip by considering ways we can improve the day-to-day life for our friends there. We take into consideration potential small physical projects –such as painting the girls rooms as well as ideas to continue to improve health and general welfare of all (dental visits). Next we determine what items we should bring to support our projects/mission. Parishioners here have helped by donating items such as medicine and clothing. The children of our parish helped by writing letters to their penpals there, making rosaries and prayer books during VBS as well as small pocket wallets for the elderly. All of this and more are packed into our luggage that each volunteer carries on our adventure south.  All of this happens before we even board the plane!
